The Tarleton State University Nursing Building supports the intensive academic demands of health sciences education through a highly programmed, student-centered layout. The facility includes smart classrooms, tiered lecture halls, teaching labs, high-fidelity mannequin simulation spaces, an ICU simulation lab with a functioning nurses station, a computer testing lab, and faculty offices.

Student movement and daily use were key drivers of the design. Generous pre-function zones and study areas accommodate peak circulation between classes and provide space for collaboration and downtime during long schedules, while acoustic separation between public areas, classrooms, and offices ensures focused learning environments. Faculty and research offices are located on the upper level, providing separation from student traffic and access to campus views.

Architecturally, the building is defined by its iconic sweeping curve design, which has become a recognizable element of the Tarleton State University campus. Expansive glass is paired with white column accents and campus red brick, reinforcing a design language first established in adjacent projects such as the Recreation Center. A glass tower anchors the building as a campus landmark and nighttime beacon, while an adjacent plaza and water feature—now a signature stop on campus tours—strengthen its role as both an academic destination and a central gathering place.
