RSA led the design of Texas A&M University–San Antonio’s next phase of student housing and dining: a vibrant living-learning community envisioned to add over 300 new beds and 300 dining seats to the growing campus. The project unites residential and dining functions along the Paseo—the university’s central pedestrian corridor—to create a social heart that celebrates student life, wellness, and connection.

The design frames the Paseo with active ground-floor uses and outdoor gathering spaces, including shaded seating areas, gardens, and a signature fountain that anchors campus activity. The dining hall extends this energy outdoors, offering flexible spaces for eating, studying, and socializing throughout the day. One of its signature features is a grab-and-go pizza window accessible from the exterior—providing a casual, student-focused dining option that keeps the Paseo active well into the evening.

Site planning emphasizes walkability and safety, minimizing new paving and integrating existing parking and service access efficiently. The overall concept fosters a cohesive precinct that strengthens the university’s sense of place—enhancing daily student experience through thoughtful design, authentic campus identity, and an enduring connection between living, learning, and community.
