The City of Lubbock commissioned RSA to renovate a historic building in downtown Lubbock to serve as the new Municipal Court. The project transformed the space into a modern, functional facility that accommodates a range of administrative and court functions, supporting the city’s high case load volume. 

The newly renovated Municipal Court building features two courtrooms, a City Prosecutor’s Office, a shared file room, and a collaboration room. It also includes two Judges Chambers, two Jury Deliberation Rooms, restrooms, a lactation room, a family room, building storage, collections area, cashier/ transaction lobby, and security screening area. The facility was designed with efficient workflow in mind.

In addition to the courtroom functions, the project ensured a clear separation between the Court and Prosecutor’s Office, with distinct entrances to preserve the independence of each department. This thoughtful design creates a secure and efficient environment for both court personnel and the public. The renovation highlights a balance between historic preservation and modern functionality.
