Fire Station No. 4 | North Richland Hills, Texas
NRH Fire Station No. 4 was a new fire station with 3 double drive-thru Apparatus Bays, Sleeping Quarters for 10 Firemen, a Battalion Chief’s Office/Quarters, Showers/Locker Rooms, Kitchen, Fitness Center, Day Room, Video Training Area, Dispatch Room, EMS Storage, General Storage, Decon/Extraction Room, S.C.B.A. Facilities and Washer/Dryer Room. An attached Community Room was provided for citizen use by reservation. Two additional drive-thru Apparatus Bays were bid as an add alternate but were not accepted by the Owner. However, the project is designed in such a way that the two double bays can be added as an expansion when/if needed. The exterior envelope of Fire Station No. 4 is composed of a combination of two colors of red brick with cast stone accents. Both sloped and flat roofs were used to blend with the surrounding neighborhood and provide screened areas for easy access to rooftop mechanical equipment.
