Wiley College | Strickland Residence Hall
Construction Cost : $12.2M | SF : 109,728 Wiley College had not built a new housing facility in over 30 years. The project budget was very tight but the College required 100% brick on the exterior. The architectural vernacular on campus was orange brick with exposed white structural frames and creme brick accents. To accommodate the aggressive budget and time frame, RSA selected Type V wood frame construction. The project contains 500 dual occupancy beds in suite style configuration sharing a common bathroom between two dual occupancy units. The project is a Living/Learning facility with (2) forty person Classrooms, a large Multi-Purpose Room, a two story Lobby Atrium, Computer Rooms, Mail/Vending Area, Residence Life Offices, and a Covered Outdoor Pavilion. Student Lounge spaces and Laundry Rooms are provided in each wing of each floor.
