The Sim Lab project consisted of a (90) seat “SMART” Classroom, (6) Faculty Offices, a (6) Treatment Room High Fidelity Simulation Lab, Nursing Station, Control Room, (2) Debriefing Rooms, Supply Storage and Medication Room. The two story facility was added to the existing Nursing Building on campus. The POR called for (3) general simulation treatment rooms, an L&D room, a Bariatric room, a Neonatal room and an Operating room located around a Nursing Station. Each treatment room is linked to programmers in the Control Room through mannequin simulation software and audio/video recording equipment integrating the high fidelity mannequins with the programmers real time during student procedures. The Biology Building Addition consists of two (30) person instructional Labs for Biology and Microbiology, Prep Room, (4) Faculty Research Labs, a Computer Lab, (3) Faculty Offices, (9) Graduate Assistant Offices and a new two story atrium Lobby with lounge seating for students. The addition was designed to take advantage of views towards the Campus Lake and incorporate “Public Placemaking” opportunities via a pedestrian plaza and shade trellises.
